Association Valle Escondido for Regeneration (AVER)

Impact Type: Philanthropy | Contribution: $55,000.00

AVER is a community-driven nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness and inspiring action around regenerative practices and sustainable design throughout Costa Rica. Through education, workshops, internships, and advocacy, AVER fosters deeper connection to land, food systems, and community resilience.

With support from 5D Ventures, AVER has expanded its impact through new greenhouses and scholarships for its Permaculture Design Course (PDC), held at Valle Escondido — a sister project to AVER, and a sustainable hotel, nature preserve, and permaculture farm in Monteverde. The PDC program makes regenerative education more accessible to Costa Ricans and Latin Americans. Past cohorts have designed community gardens for schools, small farms, and dairies, with recent efforts focused on engaging rural communities and underrepresented groups, including single mothers.

5D Ventures has also supported AVER’s Living Library project — a digital platform dedicated to sharing regenerative practices, methods, and designs that help individuals and communities live in greater harmony with the natural world. By freely sharing this knowledge, the Living Library extends AVER’s reach beyond Costa Rica, offering inspiration and practical tools to a global audience committed to building a more sustainable future.
