Elena Arrieta is a conservation professional with experience in environmental NGOs focused on the protection of ecosystems — from freshwater systems to tropical forests. Her work centers on promoting the integration of human communities within living systems, supporting approaches that balance conservation, education, and sustainable livelihoods.

She currently promotes ecosystem conservation in the Pacific coast of Costa Rica through community-based programs related to water quality and wildlife monitoring. Elena is also part of the Namboru Project and The Resilient World Fund, where she supports a permaculture-based lifestyle that fosters harmony between human activity and natural processes, maximizing resource efficiency through interconnected systems.
