Emily Johnson
Director of Operations
Emily Johnson is Director of Operations at 5D Ventures, where she leads the firm’s financial, operational, and administrative functions in support of investment activities across Canada and Costa Rica. In this role, she provides cross-functional leadership spanning finance, compliance, human resources, communications, investor and investee relations, and strategic planning.
Since joining 5D Ventures, Emily has contributed significantly to the firm’s growth and organizational development. Her work has included supporting the launch of The Progression of Consciousness Fund, leading a vertical amalgamation, overseeing more than a dozen real estate transactions, and supporting over 50 investment deals. She has also spearheaded a range of brand, communications, and operational initiatives, including website launches, investor communications, knowledge management systems, and workflow optimization processes that have strengthened organizational effectiveness and scalability.
Prior to 5D Ventures, Emily built more than 15 years of experience across the insurance, media, software engineering, and culinary sectors, holding progressive roles in operations, management, and client services. This diverse professional background has shaped her adaptable, systems-oriented approach to leadership and organizational development.
Emily holds an Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts from McMaster University and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. Her studies continue to deepen her understanding of human behaviour, mental health, and relational dynamics, perspectives she brings to her leadership and operational practice. She is known for integrating creativity, empathy, and curiosity into her work, fostering a thoughtful and human-centred approach to organizational leadership.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Emily is an artist, writer, Vedic meditator, and avid nature enthusiast. She values meaningful connection, lifelong learning, and time spent exploring the outdoors with her dog.
